Disney+ has launched this week and many people are struggling with some issues, including getting “error codes”.
The official Disney+ help page goes into more depth but here is a rough guide to these error codes and how to fix them.
Error Code 4
This means Disney are having issues trying to complete your transaction. Try again after a short period.
Here are some potential causes and solutions:
- Invalid ZIP or postal code. Verify that the billing ZIP or postal code for the payment card you are using is correct.
- Invalid security code. Verify that the 3-digit security code on the back of your card (or 4 if you have an American Express) matches the one you’re submitting.
- Invalid expiration date. Verify that the expiration date on your card matches the one you’re submitting.
- Not a U.S.-issued card. We require a credit or debit card issued by a U.S.-based bank or financial institution.
- Government-issued card. Government-issued cards are not accepted at this time. Try using an accepted form of payment.
Error Code 5
This means we could not update your account information because there is something wrong with the data you have entered. Please check what you have entered and try again.
Error Code 7
This means we are having difficulty creating your account due to information you have entered. This could be an invalid email address, or your password doesn’t meet Disney’s password criteria.
Error Code 8
This means you have entered an invalid email or password. If you have forgotten your account email, please check your email folder for your account confirmation email at the time of sign-up.
Error Code 9
This means that you have been logged out of Disney+, and you will need to log in again to continue to use the service. It can also mean the payment information that you have entered cannot be processed. Please check the information and try again.
Here are some potential causes and solutions:

Error Code 11
This means that the content you are trying to watch is not permitted to be viewed where you are currently located. This could be a rights or availability issue.
Error Code 13
This means you have exceeded the 10-device limit for downloads for your Disney+ account. If you are trying to add downloads to a new device, you will need to remove all downloads from a previously loaded device first.
Error Code 22
This means the video you are trying to watch cannot be played at this time due to ratings restrictions or rights availability.
Error Code 24
This means there was a problem connecting to your account prior to playing the video. This could be an issue with your Internet connectivity or an internal error. Please check your connectivity and try again.
Error Code 25
This means that Disney+ experienced an internal error as a result of your last action. Please try to complete the action again.
Error Code 27
This means there is a problem with the video you are trying to watch, due to rights availability.
Error Code 28
This means we had a problem finding the video you are trying to watch. Please try again.
Error Code 29
This means there is a problem with the video you are trying to watch due to internal connectivity issues.
Error Code 30
This means there is a problem adding the device to your account, which could mean one of several things:
- You have reached the 10-device limit for your Disney+ account. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no way to extend limits or remove older devices.
- There was an undefined error during the linking process and the device could not be added. Please try to link your device again.
- The device is already linked. Please try to log in to your device to see if it is already linked to your account.
Error Code 31
This means there is a problem verifying your location. If you are on a mobile device and location services are turned off, please enable location services and try again.
Location Services on an iPhone or iPad
- Tap the Settings application.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Location Services.
- Toggle the switch to On.
- Scroll down to the Disney+ app.
- Select While Using the App.
Location Services on Android
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Location.
- Move the slider to On.
- Tap Mode.
- Select the mode you prefer. High Accuracy delivers the most accurate location information by using GPS, Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth, and cellular networks to determine your location.
Error Code 32
This means that Disney cannot connect to your account, and you will need to login again to continue to use the service. If you have forgotten your account email, please check your email or your account confirmation at the time of sign up. If you don’t remember your password, you can reset it here.
Error Code 34
This means that you cannot create any more profiles as you have reached 7 total profiles, or the maximum allowed. If you want to create a new profile, you will need to delete an existing profile first.
How to Delete a Profile:
- Once logged in, go to your Profile area:
- On a Connected TV, click on your profile icon on the top left
- On a Mobile Device, click your profile icon at the bottom right
- On a Web Browser on your computer or laptop, click on your profile icon on the top right
- Select Edit Profile
4. Select Delete Profile at the bottom of the screen. The main account holder profile cannot be deleted.
Error Code 35
This means that the video you are trying to watch is not available at this time. This could be a rights availability or internal system issue.
Error Code 36
This means that the video you are trying to watch is not available at this time. This could be a rights availability or internal system issue.
Error Code 38
This means they cannot sync the video you requested to your time settings. Double check the time settings on your clock and try again.
Error Code 40
This means that the video you are trying to watch cannot be watched at this time. This could be a rights availability or other issue with Disney+.
Error Code 42
This means that the video you are trying to watch cannot be watched at this time. This could be a rights availability or other issue with Disney+.
Error Code 44
This means that the video you are trying to watch cannot be watched at this time. This could be a rights availability or internal system issue. The video may return to the library after rights availability has returned or their internal system is resolved.
Error Code 72
This means we had a problem with your account. Please log out of Disney+ completely and log in again.
Error Code 73
This means that Disney+ is not available in your current region, or you are using a VPN. If you are using a VPN you will need to deactivate it to enjoy Disney+ content.
If you are not using a VPN and Disney+ is available in your location, there could be an issue with your Internet service provider, which might be reporting an incorrect location. To verify this, you may want to test on another connection, if available.
Error Code 75
This means you have reached your device limit for streaming Disney+, which is 4 concurrent devices. You will need to stop streaming on another device if you want to stream on your current device.
Error Code 76
This means that your current connection speed is too slow to stream Disney+. This could be caused by a number of issues
Error Code 81
This means there was an issue trying to reset your password. You will need to restart the password reset process, which you can do here.
Error Code 83
This means we experienced an unknown error streaming to your device. This is typically a device compatibility issue, connection error, or account issue.

- If you have verified that both device compatibility and connectivity are fine, this means there is likely an account issue. In this case, Disney recommend you contact Disney+ Customer Service
Error Code 86
This means that your account has been blocked for one of the following reasons:
The main account holder email is associated with someone under the age of 18
The account has been banned due to inappropriate usage, or a violation of our terms of service
Error Code 87
This means we had a problem finding your user profile when you logged in. This could be an internal Disney+ error, or it could be that your profile has just been deleted. Please log out of Disney+ completely and try to log in again.
