Don’t you love the blending of two words? Frosé. Frozen rosé! Clever and cute!

What I love about this co*cktail is it’s like drinking a slushie. And not your average slushie, but delicious and vibrant wine slushies. I heard about this easy frose recipe a few years back from my friend, Sadee. It’s one of her family’s backyard, go-to summer co*cktails. So, I thought I’d try my hand at it and boy, I’m glad I did.

What is unique about this frosé recipe?

The taste. If you served this to someone who didn’t know what was in it, it would take them a few sips to figure it out. The elusive taste is wine. It’s subtle enough to be intriguing but familiar enough that you recognize the rosé.

Can I use white wine instead of rosé?

Yes, you sure can.Just know that the taste will change because of the distinct difference between white wine and rosé.I’ve made it both ways, with sauvignon blanc and with rosé, and truthfully, I like it better with rosé.

  • Rosé pairs so nicely with strawberries but you could use any berry in this co*cktail.
  • Another great combination is a watermelon frosé.
  • Be sure to wash your strawberries well as they are one of the top fruits grown with heavy pesticides. Just use a little unscented, natural foaming hand soap and lightly rub the strawberries between your hands. Rinse well before using.
  • Make sure to fill your ice cube trays with rosé at least 8 hours before you need them, overnight is best.
  • I use a big silicone ice cube tray, but normal sized trays are okay.
  • You don’t need a really expensive rosé, so try it with a mid-level wine.
  • Using grenadine not only adds a pretty deep red color but is sweet so you don’t have to use simple syrup.
  • Use a good blender but if you don’t have a good one, you’ll just need to process it longer.
  • Adjust the amount of ice cubes to your taste, the more ice cubes, the thicker the co*cktail will be.
  • You can also use frozen strawberries in this co*cktail, but I prefer fresh strawberry.

Step six

Add a few more ice cubes and blend until thick. Don’t be afraid to add more ice cubes until it reaches the right consistency.

Divide and pour the frosé between the two glasses and stick a strawberry on the side of both glasses.
